Local Indigenous expert takes DAP+ team out on country

The DAP+ Team shared a Cultural Immersion experience with local Bahtabah Land Council member, Conservation Land Management and Cultural Heritage Officer, Kentan Proctor.

Kentan taught the DAP+ team about different Indigenous artifacts, including their age and utility, the diverse types of bush tucker, and the many medicinal and other uses of plants and trees growing in the region.

Later in the day, the group went to the Swansea headland where the team listened to stories about how the moon cried when the coal was extracted from the seams, and about Malangbula, the petrified women of Swansea Heads. They also looked at the petrified forest. This partnership approach will continue into the future when new team members join.
